How does the 2-Week Taste Trial and subscription work?

All new pack members start with a 2-Week Taste Trial. To make the switch easy on little tummies, this first delivery contains a 7-day transition week. Just follow the order of the packs labelled Day 1-6 and mix in with your dog’s current food to gradually introduce their new meals. From Day 7 onwards, your pooch will be on 100% fresh Nutrivore meals.

If you would like to continue receiving regular deliveries from us, you don’t need to do anything - we’ll bill and deliver to you every 2 weeks so your furkid always has fresh meals to look forward to.

You have complete control over what we send to you and when, and you can pause, skip or cancel orders anytime. Just log into your online account to make any adjustments or get in touch so we can assist.

What is the Clean Bowl Guarantee?

Are you not convinced that fresh food is right for your dog? Or worried they might not like it? We’re confident that once you make the switch to real food you won’t look back! And to make your decision easier, we’re happy to offer a refund by way of credit back to your Nutrivore account for any returned unopened packs from your initial 2-Week Taste Trial.

Please keep any unopened packs frozen until our delivery driver collects them so we can donate them to rescue organisations or volunteer feeders that we work with.

How do I make changes to my subscription?

Need to change your recipe selection, portion size, or delivery dates? Simply login to the Customer Portal with your registered mobile number to make adjustments to your dog’s subscription. Alternatively, you can contact us - our friendly team is always happy to help.

Is there a deadline for making changes to my upcoming delivery?

Yes there is. Our fresh meals are cooked to order and procuring fresh ingredients, cooking and delivering customised portions for the entire pack takes quite a bit of planning. You will need to let us know of any changes before the billing date of your upcoming delivery. You can see the next billing date by logging into your online account.

How much does it cost?

It’s our aim to offer fresh, healthy pet food that is also affordable, and with our customised meal plans you’re only paying for what your dog needs. Each dog is different, and their pricing will depend on a variety of factors such as their age, weight, and activity level. To find out the exact pricing for your dog, simply fill out this short questionnaire.

How do you calculate my dog’s portion?

We take relevant profile information about your dog (such as weight, age, breed, body condition and activity level) to calculate the optimal number of calories they need per day. This calculator has been created by our veterinary nutritionist, and is the same method commonly used by vets around the world.

Some dogs can have a faster or slower metabolism than usual, and puppies will need their portion size adjusted as they grow, so our caring team will check in with you periodically to make changes as needed.

How does delivery work?

We deliver within 3-hour slots on Thursday-Saturday. Once you have placed your order, we will be in touch to arrange a convenient delivery time. We’ll reserve the same delivery slot for your recurring fortnightly deliveries. With each delivery you’ll receive 14 days worth of meals.

Why should I feed Nutrivore?

We are loving pet parents ourselves, and created Nutrivore because we weren’t happy with the food options available to us.

Our main concerns were the unnecessary and potentially harmful ingredients in typical pet food diets such as chemical preservatives, flavourings, and colourings and cheap fillers. Proteins are often just referred to as meat meal (ie. beef meal, chicken meal). Meat meal is created through the process of rendering, where it is cooked at high temperature to create a concentrated powder. It is commonly made from the waste material from slaughterhouses and may contain very little actual meat (muscle meat). In addition, labelling regulations allow a food to be declared “Beef Dinner” as long as it contains just 4% beef, even though it may actually contain 20% of another meat source such as pork or chicken.

We’re not trying to create anything lavish or elaborate. We just want to offer honest, clean food made fresh with real ingredients you can see. Using recipes that are backed by science to help your dog live their best life.

The benefits of a whole food diet are numerous, and can include shinier coats with less shedding and itching, healthier weight and increased vitality, and improved gut health and immunity. But don’t take our word for it, see what our pack of healthy hounds and happy pawrents have to say.

How do I store the food?

Our meals are vacuum sealed and frozen immediately after cooking to lock in freshness and preserve their nutrient integrity. We don’t use any chemicals or preservatives, so treat your dog’s meals as you would your own home-cooked food, because essentially that’s what it is! They will be delivered to you frozen and will last up to a year in the freezer. An unopened pouch will last for four days in the fridge, and once opened, pouches should be consumed within two days.

We suggest keeping a few days worth of meals in the fridge and the rest in the freezer. Each time a pack is finished, move one over from the freezer to the fridge - it will be defrosted by the time you need it.

How do I feed Nutrivore? Do I need to prepare anything?

Nope! Our food is pre-portioned and ready-to-serve!

You can serve directly from the fridge (as long as it’s fully defrosted), but most pet parents like to heat the meals up a little. You can do this by placing their serving in a microwavable dish and warming through for a short time (check for hot spots before feeding), or simply place the pouch in warm water up to their serving level for a few minutes to bring to room temperature.

If you forget to defrost a pouch overnight in the fridge, you can submerge the bag in cold water for 10-15 minutes to thaw quickly. For food safety reasons, it is not recommended to defrost any food in hot water.

How are the Nutrivore recipes created?

Our recipes have been developed by our leading veterinary nutritionist to ensure your dog receives the ideal mix of vitamins and minerals they need to thrive. The formulations are backed by science and meet internationally recognised standards for nutrient levels (AAFCO and FEDIAF).

What ingredients do you use?

You might be shocked to learn what goes into commercial pet foods. Preservatives, chemicals, fillers, rendered meats & by-products are just some of the potentially harmful nasties that most dogs are being fed on a daily basis.

But not our pack! Nutrivore meals are made with natural human-grade ingredients that are sourced from reputable suppliers. Each ingredient has been selected for it’s nutritional qualities, so our recipes include all of what your dog needs, and none of what they don’t.

What do you mean by nutritionally complete & balanced?

Our recipes meet or exceed standards set by both AAFCO (USA) and FEDIAF (EU) Dog Food Nutrient Profile for all life stages. This means that if your dog eats just our food in the daily amount we recommend for them, they’ll be getting the nutrition they need in the ideal ratios to stay fit and healthy.

Is Nutrivore food raw?

No, our meals are gently cooked which kills pathogens that may be present in raw ingredients, making it a safe option for your dog and your family.

Can I request for ingredients to be changed or substituted?

No, our recipes have been carefully formulated to ensure your dog receives the optimal levels of vitamins and minerals they need to thrive, with each ingredient selected for it's nutritional properties.

Is Nutrivore suitable for puppies?

Yes! We’ve carefully formulated our recipes for all life stages, meaning dogs can enjoy Nutrivore meals from weaning through to their senior years.

Growing pups will need their portions increased over time, and we’ll check in with you monthly to assess their needs and make the appropriate adjustments.

Should I consult my vet before switching my dog to Nutrivore?

We have consulted and worked with vets and leading nutritionists to create what we believe is the best food you can feed your dog. Our recipes have been formulated to internationally recognised standards to ensure that they are nutritionally complete for dogs, who should thrive on a fresh diet.

Our food is intended to fully replace a standard diet, but not prescription diets. Your dog’s wellbeing is our primary concern, and if your dog has any medical condition or dietary requirements we do recommend playing it safe before changing their diet. If in doubt, it’s always a good idea to speak to your vet. Please also feel free to contact us and our in-house nutrition consultants can advise you further.

My dog has a sensitive stomach

Typically, dogs with sensitive tummies do really well on our meals as they are gently cooked and contain none of the nasties found in highly processed commercial food (preservatives, flavourings, colouring, etc).

The first delivery contains a 7-day transition week, which is sufficient for most dogs but those with sensitive stomachs may need to take it extra slowly introducing the new food. Just let us know and we’ll be happy to set this up for you.

My dog is a picky eater

We hear this a lot and deliver hundreds of meals each week to our fussy friends! We’re so confident that your dog will love our meals that we offer a Clean Bowl Guarantee.

We recommend selecting all recipes they can eat to offer variety, and warming their food to bring out aromas that excite even the fussiest eaters.

Why can’t I make my own home-cooked dog food?

A balanced meal for a dog is very different from a human's, and without the input of a veterinary nutritionist it’s extremely improbable that meals cooked at home.

Cooking for your dog is time-consuming and can be expensive. But more importantly, without the input of a veterinary nutritionist, your home-cooked meals will not be nutritionally complete (no, adding a multivitamin is not a fix!). Serious health issues can arise from feeding your pet meals that are deficient (or excessive) in certain nutrients in the long run.

Our canine nutrition experts have crafted our recipes to ensure that each meal delivers the correct nutrition for your dog, and includes a proprietary blend of vitamins and minerals.
